Emil Nilsson is a composer and performer active in contemporary music.

Nilsson has collaborated with both Swedish and international ensembles such as Curious Chamber Players, MotoContrario, Gageego and Norrbotten Neo. His pieces have been performed around Europe at several contemporary music festivals such as Impuls, ilSUONO Contemporary Music Week, Festival Contrasti, Kalvfestivalen and Vindögafestivalen. He is the recipient of a number of scholarships including the Swedish Royal Academy of Music, Anders Sandrew’s foundation, Helge Ax:son Johnson foundation, Otto and Charlotte Mannheimer foundation and more.

In 2022, Nilsson initiated ensemble hybrid as a platform for his music to be performed, as well as for curating and programming other contemporary music. Beside his activities as a composer, he is an active performer on clarinet.
